Princeton women, star Rasheed can get 1st NCAA tournament win without facing Baylor, Griner
WACO, Texas – Niveen Rasheed and Princeton can achieve their biggest goal without having to beat Brittney Griner and top-ranked Baylor.
The Tigers (22-6) will try Sunday for their school's first NCAA tournament win in their fourth straight season as Ivy League champions.
A win over Florida State (22-9) likely would mean a game against the defending champion Lady Bears. Baylor opens against Prairie View A&M as the top seed on its home court in the first round of the Oklahoma City Region.
The Seminoles are back after a seven-year NCAA run ended last season.
Prairie View (17-14) is a No. 16 seed and Southwestern Athletic Conference champion for the third straight year. It's the second time the Lady Panthers have had to play Baylor (32-1) in Waco.
