Prahalis signs with Liberty

New York, NY – The New York Liberty have signed guard Samantha Prahalis to a seven-day contract.

Prahalis, a member of the WNBA's All-Rookie Team in 2012 with Phoenix, was waived by the Mercury on July 18 after averaging just 2.3 points with 2.0 assists in eight games this season.

"We are constantly evaluating and searching for ways to improve our ball club," said Liberty head coach and general manager Bill Laimbeer in a statement Monday.

Prahalis averaged 11.6 points, 4.5 assists and 3.2 rebounds as a rookie in 2012, but saw limited playing time for the Mercury this season when Diana Taurasi was moved into the lead guard position.
