Lisbon, Portugal – FC Porto moved back into the top spot in 0 win over 10-man Feirense.
Benfica entered the weekend two points clear of the defending champions but was held to a 0-0 draw by Academica on Saturday, allowing Porto to join them at the top of the league on 49 points.
With the match level at 0-0 in the 57th minute Feirense was reduced to 10 men as Amaral was sent off. Porto took advantage with Maicon scoring in the 68th minute and James Rodriguez doubling the lead four minutes later to put Porto on top on goal difference.
Third-place Braga handled Guimaraes 4-0 on Monday after scoring two goals in the opening 20 minutes and going up a man with Leandro Freire of Guimaraes being sent off shortly after the half-hour mark. Braga then added two goals in the final 15 minutes to secure its ninth straight league win.
Friday's match saw Maritimo top Uniao Leiria, 1-0, as Roberto Sousa scored in the 66th minute to give the club its third straight win.
Sporting Lisbon won for the third time in four games on Sunday as Marat Izmailov scored in the 35th minute of a 1-0 win over Rio Ave, Setubal topped Beira Mar, 3-2, Gil Vicente and Olhanense finished 0-0, and Nacional won for the third time in five games by beating Pacos Ferreira, 2-0.
