After falling from the top spot in the Portuguese Liga last weekend, FC Porto rebounded to secure a 2-0 home win against Estoril.

Porto was held to a 0-0 draw by Sporting Lisbon last weekend which dropped the club two points back of Benfica, but the defending champions got off to a strong start against Estoril en route to the victory.

Maicon's goal in the fourth minute opened the scoring and Jackson Martinez tallied his league-leading 23rd goal of the season 10 minutes later to put Porto in charge.

The hosts coasted home after that, but still trail Benfica by two points after the Lisbon outfit rolled to a 5-0 victory against Gil Vicente with five different players finding the net.

Braga moved into third place with a 2-0 triumph over Maritimo as Hugo Viana and Alan each scored in the win, while Pacos Ferreira slipped to fourth place after needing a stoppage-time equalizer from Manuel Vieira in a 1-1 draw with Beira Mar.

Sporting Lisbon earned a 1-1 draw at Academica after a 78th-minute goal from Ricky van Wolfswinkel, Nacional managed a 1-1 draw with Rio Ave despite playing the final 18 minutes with nine men, Olhanense's Lucas scored in stoppage time of a 1-1 draw with Moreirense and on Monday Guimaraes snatched a 3-2 win at Setubal as Amido Balde scored in stoppage time despite his side having been reduced to 10 men in the 78th minute after a red card was handed to Douglas.
