New York, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - Cappie Pondexter scored 23 points and added eight assists, leading the New York Liberty to an 85-78 victory over the Atlanta Dream on Sunday to split a home-and-home set.

Sugar Rodgers chipped in 13 points for the Liberty, who snapped a five-game losing streak that included an 85-64 loss in Atlanta on Friday. Tina Charles and Alex Montgomery each scored 12 on Sunday.

Angel McCoughtry led Atlanta with 33 points and added 10 rebounds, while Sancho Lyttle scored 12 in defeat. The Dream had a six-game winning streak stopped.

New York trailed 40-29 late in the second quarter, but scored the last nine points of the period to head to the break down just two. The Liberty carried the momentum into the second half and grabbed a 58-46 lead before the Dream trimmed the deficit to 58-54 after three.

The Liberty extended the margin to 12 in the fourth and Atlanta got only as close as five in the final minutes.
