Poised Michigan to face VCU's press in fascinating NCAA tournament matchup
AUBURN HILLS, Mich. – When Michigan takes on Virginia Commonwealth on Saturday in the NCAA tournament, it will be strength against strength.
The fourth-seeded Wolverines are the best team in the nation at avoiding turnovers. Fifth-seeded VCU will counter that with an aggressive full-court press that helped the Rams beat Akron by 46 points in their tournament opener Thursday night.
Throw in a pair of respected coaches in John Beilein and Shaka Smart, and this could be the most anticipated game of the weekend.
Michigan point guard Trey Burke will be the man responsible for directing the Wolverines through VCU's pressure, but other players will need to handle the ball well too — against a team that's not easy to prepare for in a short amount of time.
