Phillies' Worley to DL with elbow issue

Philadelphia, PA – Philadelphia Phillies pitcher Vance Worley was placed on the 15-day disabled list with loose bodies in his right elbow.

Worley, who lasted just 4 1/3 innings in Tuesday's start against the New York Mets, is expected to undergo surgery next week.

After finishing his rookie campaign in 2011 with an 11-3 record and 3.01 ERA, Worley is just 6-9 with a 4.20 earned run average in 23 starts this year.
