PHILADELPHIA – The Philadelphia Phillies have re-signed left-handed relief specialist J.C. Romero to a one-year, $1.35 million contract.
The 34-year-old Romero was 1-0 with three saves and a 3.68 ERA in 60 appearances for Philadelphia last season.
In 213 appearances with the Phillies since 2007, Romero has a 2.60 ERA and has held opposing hitters to a .192 batting average. Left-handers have been held to a .166 average.
Romero is 33-28 for his career, with seven saves and a 4.08 ERA in 628 appearances. He's also played for Minnesota, Boston and the Los Angeles Angels.
