The Philadelphia Phillies have agreed to terms with free-agent outfielder Roger Bernadina, confirms General Manager Ruben Amaro Jr.

Bernadina, 29, appeared in 85 games for the Washington Nationals earlier this season and posted a .178 average with two home runs and six RBI, making 29 starts. He was released by Washington after they acquired David DeJesus from the Cubs earlier this week.

The Phillies have optioned utility man Michael Martinez to Triple-A Lehigh Valley to make room on the 25-man roster for Bernadina.
