Laynce Nix doubled home the go-ahead run in the seventh inning, as the Philadelphia Phillies' offense erupted late in an 8-2 win over the New York Mets on Sunday afternoon.

Ty Wigginton preceded Nix's double with a game-tying sacrifice fly and added a three-run double as part of a five-run eighth inning that featured a critical defensive miscue.

Jimmy Rollins and Hunter Pence each had two hits, an RBI and scored twice for the Phillies, who had totaled just 20 runs in their first eight games of the season.

A two-run homer by New York's Ike Davis was among the six hits allowed by Cole Hamels (1-1). The left-hander recorded 10 strikeouts over seven innings.

Mike Pelfrey limited the Phillies to a run on eight hits in six frames.

The Mets were seeking their first series sweep in Philadelphia since June 13-15, 2006.
