The Philadelphia Phillies claimed outfielder Casper Wells from the Chicago White Sox on Thursday.

"Casper is someone that we've had our eye on since spring training," Phillies general manager Ruben Amaro said. "He's a versatile outfielder who adds depth to our club and can be a power threat off the bench."

Wells has hit just .155 with an RBI and four runs scored in 41 games for the Oakland Athletics and White Sox this season.
