Oakville, ON (SportsNetwork.com) - The 12 events that make up the 2015 PGA Tour Canada schedule will be held between May and September and will feature increased purses, according to an announcement made Wednesday.

The purse for each event will increase $25,000 to $175,000. At the conclusion of the season, the top five players on the Order of Merit will earn a spot on the Web.com Tour for 2016, while those who finish 6-10 on the Order of Merit will gain a spot in the final stage of Web.com Tour Qualifying Tournament.

"Thanks to the hard work of our host organizations and the fantastic support of our sponsors, our 12 established tournaments are all returning this season in a great position to continue to grow, with a significant increase in prize money," said PGA Tour Canada President Jeff Monday.

"We look forward to another season of outstanding golf from our players and an emphasis on positive community impact from our tournaments."

The first two events will take place in British Columbia. After a two-week break, the tour will be in action for four straight weeks, in four different provinces.

The top three players on the Order of Merit following the Staal Foundation Open in July will gain a spot in the PGA Tour's Canadian Open.

After a quick trip back to Alberta for one tournament, four of the final five events will take place in Ontario.

The season wraps up with the Tour Championship of Canada to be held Sept. 17-20, at Highland Country Club in London, Ontario.
