After capping a stellar NFL career with a win in Super Bowl 50, the Denver Broncos' Peyton Manning is expected to announce his retirement Monday at a Denver press conference, according to reports.
Manning, who turns 40 this month, ends his 18-year career with two Super Bowl titles, five most valuable player awards and numerous passing records.
Fox Sports NFL insider MIke Garafolo confirmed the reports.
Manning will forgo $19 million for next season in the NFL, where he served as both a throwback and a transformer during a glittering career.
He leaves as the NFL's winningest starting quarterback, the only one to win Super Bowls with two franchises.
Manning played most of his career with the Indianapolis Colts. He signed with Denver in 2012.
He missed seven games in 2015 with a foot injury and was benched in one loss. He sat out the 2011 season with a neck injury.
Manning is the son of former NFL player Archie Manning and the brother of NY Giants quarterback Eli Manning.
After a win over the Patriots to reach the Super Bowl, Manning was heard telling New England coach Bill Belichick, “This might be my last rodeo.”
