NFL legend and former University of Tennessee quarterback Peyton Manning will be an Honorary Race Official for the April 17 Food City 500 at Bristol Motor Speedway.

Manning will join fellow Nationwide spokesman, Dale Earnhardt Jr. for driver introductions and watch the Food City 500 from Earnhardt's pit box.

At UT, Manning set 42 NCAA, SEC and Tennessee records, winning All-American and Player of the Year honors

In the NFL, Manning is only quarterback to win 200 games, and his five NFL MVP awards and 14 Pro Bowl appearance are also league records.

Earnhardt seemed pretty excited by the news.

"I'm thrilled to get a chance to watch Dale compete at Bristol Motor Speedway," said Manning. "I want to thank Nationwide for bringing me to one of the great NASCAR tracks to watch what I'm sure will be an exciting race in front of some of the most passionate fans in the sport."
