Pescara has parted ways with manager Cristiano Bergodi after his team's 1-0 defeat to Udinese over the weekend.

The lone goal arrived in the eighth minute through Antonio Di Natale, and it condemned Pescara to a seventh defeat in eight matches and leaves the club in a three-way tie for the bottom spot in Serie A, five points from safety.

A statement from Pescara read: "Pescara announce the dismissal of first-team coach Cristiano Bergodi. The club thanks the coach for his hard work and the passion he showed in carrying out the role. The club can also confirm that the name of his successor will be revealed in the next 24 hours."

The 48-year-old Bergodi spent eight seasons at Pescara as a player but was only able to register three wins in 14 games during his time in charge after replacing Giovanni Stroppa on Nov. 20.
