Foxboro, MA – The New England Patriots placed defensive lineman Mike Wright on injured reserve with his second concussion in less than a year.
Wright suffered the injury in Week 1, and had returned to practice last week, but still had been unable to play and was inactive the last four games.
The 29-year-old Cincinnati product also missed the final six games of 2010 after sustaining his first concussion in a game against the Indianapolis Colts last November. He was eventually placed on IR in early January.
To fill the roster slot, the Pats signed defensive back Phillip Adams to the active roster.
Adams was signed by New England on September 21, but did not play in the club's two games before he was released this past Saturday.
The South Carolina product finished with 13 tackles in 15 games for San Francisco last season.
