Patriots put receiver Holt on injured reserve

FOXBOROUGH, Mass(Reuters) - The New England Patriots placed veteran wide receiver Torry Holt on injured reserve with a knee injury, the team said Sunday on their website (www.patriots.com).

The 34-year-old Holt spent the bulk of his career with the St Louis Rams and ranks 10th on the all-time list for receiving yards and 11th in receptions.

He joined the Patriots in April after being released from the Jacksonville Jaguars, but the outlook for the remainder of his career is now clouded by the injury.
