The U.S. team at this year's World University Games will have a distinctly Indiana flavor.

Purdue's Matt Painter will be the head coach, and his assistants will be Butler's Brad Stevens and Missouri State's Cuonzo Martin. The selections were made by Syracuse coach Jim Boeheim, chairman of the USA Basketball Junior National Team committee.

Painter played at Purdue and replaced Gene Keady as the Boilermakers' coach following the 2004-05 season. Martin also played at Purdue and served on the staffs of both Keady and Painter until taking the Missouri State job in 2008.

Stevens took Butler to last year's national championship game, then helped USA Basketball set its roster for the under-18 international team last summer.
