Simon Pagenaud took advantage of Conor Daly's late fuel stop to win the Honda Indy 200 at the Mid-Ohio Sports Course on Sunday for his fourth victory of the season and the eighth of his career.

The Frenchman started from the pole, showing no signs of a back injury sustained in practice Friday. He beat Team Penske teammate Will Power by 4.16 seconds to increase his season points lead.

Carlos Munoz was third and 2015 race winner Graham Rahal was fourth, 7.01 seconds behind.

Daly led for 21 laps in search of his first victory after qualifying in the last spot, but he had to pit with six of the 90 laps left. He held a 10.5 leader over Pagenaud at the time and even with a 4.8-second stop fell to eighth before finishing sixth.
