The San Diego Padres have extended the contracts of assistant general managers Fred Uhlman Jr., Jason McLeod and A.J. Hinch through 2013.

Hinch was moved into an assistant GM role with his contract extension Friday. He joined the Padres in September of 2010 as vice president in charge of professional scouting. He spent 2008-09 as field manager for the Arizona Diamondbacks.

"I am pleased to announce well-earned extensions for Fred and Jason and a promotion for A.J.," said Padres general manager Jed Hoyer. "They have done terrific work in the past year and have helped bring many talented people into our front office. I look forward to working tirelessly with all three of them to build a consistently excellent Padres team."

Uhlman, who has spent the last 17 seasons with the Padres, was promoted to vice president/assistant GM in November 2008.

McLeod, a San Diego native, is finishing his second season of his second stint with the Padres. He held numerous posts for the Padres from 1994-2003 before going to the Red Sox (2004-09) and then came back to San Diego as VP/assistant GM following the 2009 season.
