San Diego, CA – The San Diego Padres activated reliever day disabled list and designated pitcher Pat Neshek for assignment on Sunday.
Frieri landed on the DL August 8 with a lower back strain. He is 1-2 with a 3.47 earned run average in 46 appearances for San Diego this season.
Neshek posted a 1-1 record with a 4.01 ERA in 25 games over four stints with the Padres this year.
