Padres activate Frieri, designate Neshek for assignment

The San Diego Padres activated reliever day disabled list and designated pitcher Pat Neshek for assignment on Sunday.

Frieri landed on the DL August 8 with a lower back strain. He is 1-2 with a 3.47 earned run average in 46 appearances for San Diego this season.

Neshek posted a 1-1 record with a 4.01 ERA in 25 games over four stints with the Padres this year.
