Packers linebacker Erik Walden was arrested for allegedly assaulting his girlfriend just hours after Green Bay's victory in Detroit on Thursday.

According to the Green Bay Press Gazette, the alleged incident occurred around 2:30 a.m. Friday in an apartment Walden shares with his girlfriend, who called authorities around 6:10 a.m. to report it.

The paper said Walden was booked into the Brown County Jail at 8 a.m. and will remain there until at least Monday because Brown County Court was closed Friday for the Thanksgiving holiday.

The linebacker, who has started all 11 games for the unbeaten Packers this season, was being held on suspicion of felony domestic violence-substantial battery, the paper reported.

Walden's girlfriend was treated at a local hospital for a cut and bump on her head prior to calling police, the paper reported. The Packers were aware of the incident but were no commenting any further.

The 6-foot-2, 250-pound linebacker has 41 tackles and three sacks for Green Bay this season. He had eight tackles in Thursday's 27-15 win over the Lions.
