Green Bay, WI – The Green Bay Packers signed wide receiver year contract extension.
Nelson is in his fourth NFL season, all with the Packers. Financial terms of the deal were reported by the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel to be for $12.6 million with a $3.5 million signing bonus.
The paper said Nelson, who was set to become an unrestricted free agent in March, signed the contract on Saturday.
In four games this season, Nelson has caught 15 passes for 292 yards and three touchdowns, putting him on pace for career-high numbers in each statistic.
The 26-year-old is part of a stacked wide receiver core for the reigning Super Bowl champions, sharing the field with Greg Jennings, Donald Driver, James Jones and Randall Cobb.
With no shortage of targets, Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers has passed for 1,325 yards and 12 touchdowns and is also on pace for a career season for 4-0 Green Bay.
Nelson has 115 career receptions for 1,560 yards and nine touchdowns since Green Bay selected him in the second round (No. 36 overall) of the 2008 NFL Draft.
The wide receiver was a consensus All-America selection in his final college season at Kansas State and one of three finalists for the Biletnikoff Award.
