The Arizona Diamondbacks have re-signed first year contract.

Overbay appeared in 18 games for the Diamondbacks last season after being released by the Pittsburgh Pirates, and hit .286 with a home run and 10 RBI. He had struggled with the Pirates, batting .227 with eight homers and 37 RBI in 103 games before he was cut loose.

The 34-year-old started his career with the D'Backs in 2001 and has also played for Milwaukee and Toronto, in addition to the Pirates. He is a .270 hitter with 131 home runs and 571 RBI in 1,259 career games.
