Sarasota, FL (SportsNetwork.com) - The Baltimore Orioles signed pitcher Ubaldo Jimenez to a four-year contract on Wednesday.
The 30-year-old is coming off a strong rebound season, posting a 13-9 record and a 3.30 earned run average over 32 starts with the Indians and striking out 194 batters in 182 2/3 innings.
Jimenez finished third in the National League Cy Young Award voting in 2010 after amassing a 19-8 record with a 2.88 ERA with the Colorado Rockies, but went just 19-30 with a 5.03 ERA over the next two seasons prior to last year's bounce-back campaign. He led the majors with 17 losses in 2012.
Over eight major league seasons with Colorado and Cleveland, the Dominican right-hander has gone 82-75 with a 3.92 ERA.
