Baltimore, MD – The Baltimore Orioles have acquired pitcher Joe Saunders and cash considerations from the Arizona Diamondbacks in exchange for pitcher Matt Lindstrom and a player to be named later.
Saunders, who was slated to start Sunday for the D'backs, is 6-10 with a 4.22 earned run average in 21 starts with Arizona this year.
Over eight seasons with the Angels (2005-10) and Diamondbacks (2010-12), Saunders owns a 75-62 record with a 4.17 ERA in 182 starts.
Lindstrom, 32, appeared in 34 games with the O's this season, compiling a 1-0 record and a 2.72 ERA.
Baltimore recalled pitcher Jake Arrieta from Triple-A Norfolk to fill the vacated roster spot.
Arrieta went 3-9 with a 6.13 ERA over 18 starts with the O's earlier this season.
