PITTSBURGH – The Pittsburgh Steelers escaped their season opener with a victory and with plenty to work on heading into Thursday's game at Baltimore.
The Steelers let a 24-point lead slip away before Shaun Suisham's field goal at the gun allowed Pittsburgh to escape with a 30-27 win.
Coach Mike Tomlin says the defense needs to do a better job of communicating after allowing the Browns to score on four straight possessions in the second half. Cleveland racked up 288 yards following halftime and nearly won in Pittsburgh for the first time in more than a decade.
The Steelers have struggled on the road against the Ravens in recent years, winning just once in their last five visits to Baltimore.
