ATHENS, Greece (AP) Olympiakos beat host Veria 2-0 Saturday to maintain its perfect record in the Greek league after nine rounds.

Brown Ideye and Jimmy Durmaz scored in the second half to give the defending champion the victory.

Ideye opened the scoring in the 55th minute, when goalkeeper Jonathan Lopez's clearance ricocheted off his body and into the net. Lopez protested that the ball also hit Ideye's hand.

Durmaz made sure of the victory in the 74th, two minutes after he entered the game, with a free kick.

Olympiakos is nine points ahead of second-place Panathinaikos, which hosts third-place AEK Sunday.

Also, Panionios won 2-0 at Levadiakos and Platanias overcame an early deficit to beat 10-man Kalloni 2-1 with a late goal.
