Devin Oliver scored 14 points and grabbed 12 rebounds as Dayton won its fifth straight, beating La Salle 65-53 on Wednesday night.

Jordan Sibert had 17 points for the Flyers (18-8, 6-5 Atlantic 10 Conference). Matt Kavanaugh added 16 and Kendall Pollard had seven.

Dayton hit 41.4 percent from the field, 84.7 percent from the line and 33.3 percent from beyond the arc.

La Salle went 17-7 to start but faded late in the first, allowing Dayton to finish the first half on a 20-4 run and lead 27-21 at the break.

The Explorers closed the gap to two points midway in the second half before Dayton pulled well ahead again on a 14-7 run — capped by a Sibert 3 and a Devon Scott dunk — to lead 54-45 with 6:17 left to play.

Jerrell Wright led the Explorers (12-13, 4-7) with 15 points and five rebounds.
