Croatian striker Ivica Olic will leave Bayern Munich this summer and join Wolfsburg on a two-year contract, it was confirmed Thursday.

The 32-year-old Olic joined Bayern two years ago on a free transfer and was an important figure in the club's run to the 2009-10 Champions League final. He struggled to find a role this season, and will make another free transfer.

"Ivica is an absolute professional. His determination and willingness to run and get stuck in are exemplary. He has always been a leading performer at his clubs. I'm convinced that he will raise the quality of our squad," Wolfsburg coach Felix Magath said.

Olic made over 75 appearances for Bayern, but the veteran sought more playing time. Capped 76 times for Croatia, Olic also drew interest from Lazio, but he did not want to leave Germany.

"It is true that I have signed a contract with Wolfsburg. I am very pleased about it, and have informed the people at Bayern of my decision," Olic told Sport Bild.
