Oklahoma City's Thabeet suspended

New York, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - Oklahoma City Thunder center Hasheem Thabeet has been suspended one game without pay by the NBA for head butting New Orleans Pelicans center Greg Stiemsma in a preseason game Oct. 17.

Thabeet will miss the Thunder's season opener on Oct. 30 against the Utah Jazz.

The University of Connecticut product has played a majority of his four-year career in a reserve role with four teams, averaging just under 11 minutes per game.
