Ohio State has dismissed its most experienced running back, fifth-year senior Bri'onte Dunn, after his girlfriend called 911 and accused him of hitting her, the Columbus Dispatch reports.

No charges had been filed as of Tuesday night. But coach Urban Meyer kicked Dunn off the team Monday for "violating team rules."

Dunn was expected to compete for the starting job after Ezekiel Elliott left for the NFL. Dunn had 196 yards and two touchdowns in 21 games. His dismissal leaves redshirt freshman Mike Weber and freshman Antonio Williams to compete for carries.
