Nuggets' Lawson signs with Lithuanian team
Denver, CO – Nuggets guard Ty Lawson has signed with the Lithuanian basketball club Zalgiris Kaunas, but the contract allows him to return to the NBA if the lockout ends.
Lawson averaged 11.7 points and 4.7 assists in 80 games -- 31 starts -- for the Nuggets last season, his second in the NBA.
Sonny Weems, a former Nuggets guard who spent the last two seasons with Toronto, signed with Zalgiris last month. He will spend the entire season with the Lithuanian club, regardless if the lockout ends.
