Denver, CO (SportsNetwork.com) - Ty Lawson scored 23 points in the Denver Nuggets' 93-90 win over the Orlando Magic on Wednesday night.

Arron Afflalo added 17 points and six rebounds for the Nuggets, who have won six in a row at home against Orlando. Nate Robinson and Wilson Chandler tallied 13 and 12 points, respectively, while J.J. Hickson contributed 11 points and 10 rebounds.

Rookie center Jusuf Nurkic ended with eight points and two blocks for the Nuggets in his first NBA start. Prior to the game, Denver traded center Timofey Mozgov along with a 2015 second round pick to the Cleveland Cavaliers in exchange for two protected 2015 first round picks (via Oklahoma City and Memphis).

Nikola Vucevic had 20 points and 11 boards for the Magic, who have lost four in a row. Victor Oladipo and Evan Fournier donated 17 and 14 points, respectively, with Oladipo also dishing out six assists.

"Our guys have character and I've never doubted that," said Magic coach Jacque Vaughn. "We'll continue to build that character. Overall, some good contributions off the bench and guys were ready to play when their numbers were called."

Ahead 67-64 with 9:35 to play, the Nuggets created some distance with an 11-4 run. Robinson scored nine points during the surge, which gave Denver a 78-68 edge with 5:49 left.

Vucevic's slam and Andrew Nicholson's 3-pointer around a Kenneth Faried turnover pulled Orlando within 93-90 with 56.4 seconds to go. The Magic had a chance to tie following misses by Lawson and Robinson, but Fournier's last- second 3-pointer fell short.

"A win is a win is a win, but I was not happy with the fourth quarter and the way we finished the game, at all," said Nuggets coach Brian Shaw.

Denver led by as many as 10 in the first quarter and took a 25-18 lead into the second. However, Orlando chipped away and ended the first half on an 8-3 spurt to get within 40-39.

The Magic scored six straight points during the middle stages of the third to grab a 53-52 lead. The Nuggets, though, scored the next 11 points before taking a 63-58 margin into the fourth.
