Cedar Falls, IA – Northern Iowa's football program filled a Sept. 8 open date with a home game against Central State, athletic director Troy Dannen announced Friday.
Central State is an NCAA Division II program from the Great-Midwest Athletic Conference and fills a fifth home game for UNI, a traditional FCS power.
UNI had an open date because Savannah State pulled out of a scheduled Sept. 8 matchup to play a game against Florida State.
UNI will open its season on Sept. 1 on the road at Wisconsin.
