Flagstaff, AZ – Northern Arizona announced on Friday that head coach Mike Adras has resigned so he can pursue other opportunities.
The 50-year-old Adras served as assistant coach for seven years before taking over as head coach in 1999. He compiled a 193-170 mark with the school and led the Lumberjacks to a 2000 NCAA Tournament appearance. They lost to St. John's, 61-56, in the first round.
Athletics director Jim Fallis stated that Dave Brown, a long-time NAU employee, will serve as the interim coach.
The Lumberjacks are off to a 2-7 mark this season. Brown, who at one time was the head coach of the NAU women's basketball team, has his first contest in his new role Saturday against CSU Bakersfield.
