Marc Hill scored 18 points as North Carolina A&T defeated Hiwassee College 76-53 on Tuesday night, ending a five-game losing streak.

Despite shooting only 28.9 percent in the first half (11 of 38), Hiwassee trailed by only two, 32-30, at halftime. But the Tigers' shooting got no better in the second half (9 of 32 for 28.1 percent), while the Aggies caught fire.

Led by Adrian Powell's 7-of-8 shooting in the second half, North Carolina A&T made 19 of 32 shots in the final 20 minutes and pulled away.

Powell had all 16 of his points after halftime. Thomas Coleman added 12 points and 13 rebounds for the Aggies (6-8).

Hiwassee (2-13), which plays in the United States Collegiate Athletic Association — a league for small colleges — was led by Adrian McLaurin's 22 points and 12 rebounds. He needed 26 shots, however, and missed 8 of 9 from 3-point territory.
