Center Ta'Shia Phillips had her eighth double-double of the season, repeatedly drawing fouls off power moves to the basket, and No. 9 Xavier recovered from back-to-back losses by beating Missouri 83-51 on Wednesday night.

Xavier (11-2) was coming off road losses to Top 10 teams — one point at Duke and 37 points at Stanford — that ended the best start in school history.

The Musketeers haven't dropped three in a row since February 2004, and were never threatened by the Tigers (8-6). Phillips had 16 points and 15 rebounds, the cornerstone of an offense with four players in double figures. Phillips went 8 of 10 from the free-throw line.

At Duke, the Musketeers wasted a lead in the closing minutes. At Stanford, they buried themselves with a slow start. This one was in hand after an opening 18-4 run. RaeShara Brown led Missouri with 15 points.
