Trevor Bayne scored the fifth pole of his Nationwide Series career Friday by qualifying first for Friday night’s Food City 250 at Bristol Motor Speedway.
Bayne turned in a fast lap of 121.190 miles per hour and edged Joey Logano for first place. Logano ran 121.090.
Completing the top five were Brian Scott, Austin Dillon and Ricky Stenhouse Jr.
In the second five were Justin Allgaier, Elliott Sadler, Brad Keselowski, Sam Hornish Jr. and Kyle Busch.
Danica Patrick, who had a bad day on both the Nationwide and Sprint Cup sides, had the 34th fastest qualifying speed after sliding across the track on her first lap.
