Isaiah Wilkerson scored 23 points to lead four players in double figures as the New Jersey Institute of Technology defeated Houston Baptist 96-84 on Saturday.

Chris Flores and Lamar Kearse scored 19 points each and Jheryl Wilson added 17 points for the Highlanders (5-10, 2-0 Great West Conference), who won their third consecutive game.

Wilkerson was 9 of 10 from the field and helped NJIT build a 51-28 lead on his layup with 19:09 to play.

Andrew Gonzalez, who led Houston Baptist (1-15, 0-2) with 27 points, hit a 3-pointer to cut the deficit to 84-77 with 2:47 left, but Wilkerson made a free throw and Sean McCarthy had a layup to push the lead to 87-77 with 2:08 to play.

Gonzalez, who entered averaging 20.9 points a game, was 5 of 16 from the field and 15 of 20 from the line.

Michael Moss added 24 points for the Huskies (1-15, 0-2), who have lost nine straight.
