Jheryl Wilson had 25 points, six assists and five steals to lead New Jersey Institute of Technology over New York City Tech 80-56 on Monday night.

Wilson was 10 of 17 from the field as the Highlanders (7-11) took a break from their Great West Conference schedule to play the Division III Yellow Jackets (1-16).

NJIT scored 29 points off 23 turnovers, scored 22 points off the fast break and 36 points in the paint. Of the 23 New York City Tech turnovers, 13 came off steals by the Highlanders.

New Jersey Tech's fast-break points and points in the paint helped lead to 45.5-percent shooting (30 of 66). The Highlanders also shot well from the outside, where they made 11 of 23 3-pointers (47.8 percent).

Isaiah Wilkerson added 14 points and 11 rebounds for NJIT, and Lamar Kearse chipped in 11 points.

Nathaniel Young led the Yellow Jackets with 29 points.
