Brazilian club Santos announced on touted forward Neymar has agreed to remain with the team until after the 2014 World Cup.

Santos president Luis Alvaro de Oliveira Ribeiro made the announcement at a press conference, and the news comes as a bit of a surprise considering that the 19-year-old was heavily linked with a move to Real Madrid at the end of the season.

Neymar is reported to have received a 50 percent pay increase to bring his salary closer to that being offered by top European clubs, while it is believed that his buyout clause of $60 million is also set to go up.

In 19 appearances for Santos this season Neymar has tallied 11 goals, while scoring eight times in 15 games for Brazil.
