Newcastle, England – Argentina international Jonas Gutierrez year contract Tuesday with Newcastle.
Gutierrez, 28, had two years left on his previous contract, but signed the new deal to extend his stay with The Toon through the summer of 2015.
"I have said many times that I love playing for Newcastle," Gutierrez said. "I love the city, the fans and the team, so I had no hesitation in signing a new contract."
Gutierrez joined Newcastle in 2008 from Spanish side Mallorca. He started his career with Velez Sarsfield in Argentina.
Newcastle is unbeaten in eight games in all competitions this season, and sits fourth in the English Premier League with three wins and three draws.
