RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) The Notre Dame-North Carolina State game was held up after halftime and a voluntary evacuation was called at Carter-Finley Stadium while Hurricane Matthew dumped rain on the region.

School spokesman Fred Demarest said a lightning strike was reported within 15 miles of the stadium, leading officials to keep the teams in the locker room for about 20 extra minutes. Fans were allowed to stay in their seats.

Officials planned to resume the game at 2:30 p.m. ET.
