The Washington Nationals on Sunday placed infielder Mark DeRosa on the 15-day disabled list and recalled infielder/outfielder Tyler Moore from Triple-A Syracuse.

The 15-year veteran DeRosa, who was hitting just 3-for-37 (.081) in 13 games this season, was disabled retroactive to April 28 with a left oblique strain.

A premier prospect in the Nationals' system, Moore is being promoted out of necessity a day after Washington brought up top prospect Bryce Harper.

Moore, 25, was the team's 2012 minor league Player of the Year and has led its farm system in RBI over the past three complete seasons.
