The Washington Nationals won't be seeing closer Jonathan Papelbon for the rest of the season.

The team suspended Papelbon four games for his role in Sunday's altercation with star outfielder Bryce Harper. Papelbon has also accepted a three-game suspension by Major League Baseball for throwing at Baltimore Orioles third baseman Manny Machado last week.

The Nationals have seven games remaing this season.

"The behavior exhibited by Papelbon (Sunday) is not acceptable," Nationals general manager Mike Rizzo said in a statement.
