Rennes confirmed on Wednesday that midfielder Yann M'Vila has completed a move to Russian side Rubin Kazan.

M'Vila had been linked with several other clubs, including Premier League sides Queens Park Rangers and Fulham, but the 22-year-old will be on his way to Russia after completing a medical on Wednesday.

"Stade Rennes, Rubin Kazan and Yann M'Vila have reached an agreement for the permanent transfer of the French international," the Ligue 1 club said in a statement on its official website. "After the traditional medical visit, the Rennes midfielder joined the Russian club officially on Wednesday evening,"

M'Vila has 22 caps for his country, but is currently serving an international ban imposed by the French Football Federation, which will run until June of 2014.
