Fontvieille, Monaco (SportsNetwork.com) - Monaco moved level with PSG at the top of the Ligue 1 table on Sunday after securing a 2-1 home win against Lyon with first-half goals from Mounir Obaddi and Radamel Falcao.

Monaco entered the day two points adrift of PSG but the defending champions were held to a 2-2 draw by St Etienne, allowing Claudio Ranieri's side to join them on 25 points from 11 games.

The home side applied much of the early pressure and capitalized in the 28th minute when Ferreira Carrasco's free kick was punched to the edge of the penalty area by Lyon goalkeeper Anthony Lopes. However, Obaddi was on hand to collect the clearance and fire it into the upper right corner of the net.

Falcao made it 2-0 to Monaco eight minutes later when he got on the other end of a long clearance from Layvin Kurzawa, worked his way into the penalty area and lobbed a shot over the head of Lopes.

Bafetimbi Gomis pulled Lyon to within a goal in the 62nd minute with a header, but Lyon could not come up with the equalizer as a late free kick from Jeremy Toulalan sailed narrowly wide.

PSG had to come from two goals down in the second half to earn a point at St Etienne as the hosts took the lead through goals from Benjamin Corgnet and Romain Hamouma.

But Fabian Lemoine was sent off in the 59th minute for St Etienne and PSG took advantage with a goal from Edinson Cavani in the 68th to reduced the deficit before Blaise Matuidi scored in stoppage time to hand his side a point.

The other match on Sunday saw Bordeaux snatch a 2-0 win over 10-man Montpellier behind goals from Cheick Diabate and Ludovic Obraniak in the last 15 minutes.
