St. Louis, MO – Missouri's Frank Haith has been named the winner of the Henry Iba Award, presented annually to the nation's top coach by the United States Basketball Writers Association.
Haith, in his first season with Missouri, guided the school to a record of 30-5 with a Big 12 Tournament title. However, the Tigers were bounced out of the NCAA Tournament in their first game -- a stunning 86-84 loss to Norfolk State last Friday.
The Tigers set a school record with 27 regular-season wins and were ranked as high as second in the nation back in late January after an 18-1 start.
Before joining Missouri, Haith spent six seasons at Miami-Florida and led the Hurricanes to a record of 129-101 mark.
